The second of the big Cape Town horse racing events in January 2011 is the ever popular J&B Met. It’s taking place at Kenilworth Racecourse on Saturday 29 January 2011. You can enjoy a full day of exciting horse racing, fashion and live entertainment at the famous event.
The theme for the 2011 J&B Met is ‘Larger Than Life – Massive outfits, oversized accessories and gigantic personalities’. There’ll be a competition for the best dressed couple and other categories. As usual, the fashion will take centre stage along with the racing. There are ten races on the day, with the feature race starting at 16h20.
General entrance tickets cost R165 each and they’re available online from WebTickets. Tickets will also be available from TabGold outlets and selected Cock ‘n Bull stores from 3 January 2011. A contribution from ticket sales goes towards the funding of the Kenilworth Conservation Area – the Cape Fynbos area in the middle of the racecourse, which is soon to be declared a National Conservation Area.
If you’d like to attend the J&B Met after-party then you’ll need to get an extra ticket. General admission tickets cost R175 and VIP tickets are R350 each. These are also available from WebTickets. The after-party starts at 19h00 and goes through to midnight.
The J&B Met is one of the most popular events in Cape Town and always attracts a massive crowd. 2011 promises to as good as ever. Enjoy!
