As part of the annual Design Indaba series of events, the Design Indaba Filmfest 2011 will run from 18 to 27 February at the all new Freeworld Design Centre.
Ten thought-provoking design documentaries and feature films will be screened to audiences in the comfortable Freeworld Design Centre auditorium twice daily. Documentaries and films in the line-up include the Banksy-directed Exit Through the Gift Shop, a story about design duo the Vignelli’s, a study of Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino, and Buckminster Fuller.
As part of the Film Festival, a live cyber-seminar with design guru, Bruce Mau (MASSIVE CHANGE NETWORK), will take place in real time in venues throughout the world. The Cape Town event, hosted by Freeworld Design Centre head, Lauren Shantall, takes place on Thursday, 24 February between 19h30 and 22h00 and will unfold real plans and real discussions about how design can change the world.
The Hemelhuijs restaurant at the Freeworld Design Centre is also offering a delicious movie-meal-deal. For only R100 enjoy a design-inspired movie and a meal from the designer menu of gourmet food artist Jacques Erasmus.
