On Sunday the 12th September 2010 the Muizenberg Village Street Festival take place around Palmer Road in Muizenberg from 10 am to 5 pm. You can park at the Muizenberg pavilion or at the Checkers parking, then just follow the signs!
The Festival is a celebration of living, creating, working, surfing, dancing, visiting and collaborating in Muizenberg. It is a self- created feast that draws on the collective skills, talents and input from community members to make it happen.
It’s a perfect day for the whole family. You are invited to bring friends too, there is something for everyone! Glory in a day of musical performance, dance, creative workshops, kiddies activities, film screenings, art exhibits, live mural painting, food and market stalls and much, much more. Just try what the village is offering through its businesses, restaurants, pub, live music venue, general spirit and love for life.
Here is just a petty example for a day at the festival: You can WATCH the children’s jungle theatre, EAT pizza or have a tea-time, BUY hand made toys, SEE an art exhibition and DO a cartooning workshop for teenagers. You can see, there are a lot of various things to explore!
The festival has 3 themes:
Creativity, Eco-Awareness and Community: you can discover these themes as aspects of being in Muizenberg. The aim is to allow for the festival to draw attention to these themes and express them.
Join the festival for a day filled with celebration and the awareness to do what the people there love.
