The Chapmans Peak Hotel is located at the foot of the world-famous Chapmans Peak Drive in Hout Bay. The hotel is ideally situated, 20 minutes from Cape Town city centre and Waterfront and 45 minutes from the airport and wine routes and it is built in the late 19th century. The Chapmans Peak Drive is leading to the popular tourist travel destinations of Boulders Beach, Simon´s Town and Cape Point.
You can chose between new rooms, which were introduced in 2009, and rooms in the historical building. The new rooms are more exclusive and expensive, the prices reach up to R 2070. But for it you will have the best views, either the sea or the Table Mountain. The rooms are all very modern with balconies and en-suite bathrooms. Original rooms are in the historical building, which are quite cheaper. Available are also 2 penthouse suites being ideal for honeymoon.
The Hotel also offers conference facilities. There are 3 newly renovated rooms including up to 100 persons. Perfect for conferences and presentations or even cocktail parties and weddings.
The Chapmans Peak Hotel is also well-known for its restaurant which was established over 25 years ago. This outdoor seafood restaurant has a worldwide reputation for its famous calamari and seafood. I have eaten there and I can say that’s absolutely true. Calamari was actually voted “one of top 20 things to do in Cape Town”. Various seafood platters (crayfish, prawns, fresh fish) and exquisite grilled steaks are also popular items. The terrace, ideal for hot summer days and beautiful sunsets, has a breathtaking view of the beach, the bay, the Atlantic Ocean and harbour activities. Drop in for a drink; wine aplenty, local and imported beers on tap and all the variety of drinks you can imagine are on offer. It’s also possible to take a stroll into the wine cellar to choose a favourite bottle. The restaurant inside consists of wood finishes and pictures from the past giving the whole a familiar feeling.
The perfect place to relax with friends, family and colleagues is the cigar bar and lounge in the Chapmans Peak Hotel! Warm leather sofas invite you to relax and during the cooler months you can use the fire place there. In addition, a big screen with TV shows local and international sporting events.
